A gold medalist from the Beauvais school of music, Cécile Nicolas goes on to a first place award for higher achievement by unanimous judges’ selection from the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris, a first place award from the Conservatoire National de Région de Rueil-Malmaison, as well as first place in chamber music from the École Nationale de Musique of Aulnay-sous-Bois. She has taken part in a number of concerts with the cello ensemble Tempo di cello and performed a work for seven cellos with Mstislav Rostropovitch. As a cellist with the Antares Quartet, Cécile Nicolas attended the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse’s proficiency sessions, in Paris, under the direction of Bruno Pasquier.
