The quartet has been based in Paris since its creation in 1995 and has associated with the greatest specialists in their field (quartets such as the Amadeus, Alban Berg, Tokyo, Cleveland), and has taken part in the master classes of the Pro Quartet (France) and the Reichenau (Austria). In addition to its decisive encounter in 1998 with Piero Farulli (viola player of the Italiano Quartet) at the Chigiana Academy of Sienna and the Fiesole School, the quartet studied with Bruno Pasquier during an advanced course at Paris' Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse and obtained the Musée Bonnat prize at the Maurice Ravel International Academy (Sain-Jeant-de-Luz , France).

From the outset of the quartet's musical career it has been invited to prestigious festivals both abroad in Kyoto (Japan), Thy (Denmark), Daniel Music Days (Netherlands), Festival Internazionale Di Musica Da Camera di Cervo, Festival Di Quartetto d’Archi in Loro Ciuffena, Fiesole in Florence, Bordighera, Dolcedo, Estate Concertistica in Lamole (Italy), Casablanca , Rabat and Fez (Morocco), and in France for the International String Quartet Festival in Luberon, Festival en Pays de Fayence, Festival du Périgord Noir, Les Grandes Heures de Cluny, Château de Grignan, Musique dans les Vignes, Abbatiale de Conques, Festival de Villevieille-Salinelles, etc.

The Antares Quartet frequently takes part in radio broadcasts and through its recordings has contributed to the rediscovery of music composed by Monsieur de Boulogne Chevalier de Saint George (born in 1739 in Guadeloupe).

Four albums released by Intégral Classic bring together the works of this neglected composer and Mozart's Milanese Quartets. The recordings were awarded four Diapasons by one french music magazine called Diapason, four stars in "le monde de la musique" and a score of 5/5 by the revue "Classica".

Following in the footsteps of England's Lindsay Quartet, since 1999 the Antares Quartet has presented its " concert-encounters " project which features convivial performances adapted to diverse audiences.
